Now Russia is trying to "probe" the front, and the fighters of the Ukrainian armed forces are preparing for the worst option - an attempt by the invaders to repeat a massive attack in different directions of the front as at the beginning of the invasion.
This was said by Mykola Volokhov, commander of the Third Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, to NV.ua.
According to Volokhov, the Russian invaders are currently trying attacks at different points of the front to see where they can move and where they cannot.
At the same time, Volokhov noted that his unit is preparing for the worst-case scenario - that Russia repeats its attempt at a massive attack on various fronts in order to significantly advance deeper into Ukraine.
„We prepare for the worst scenario, we start from the maximum capabilities of the opponent, not from his most likely actions. This is a universal approach (during war)”, said Volokhov.
Meanwhile, it has become clear that Russia will hold a military exercise in the near future that will include practicing the use of tactical nuclear weapons, AFP and Reuters reported, citing the Russian Defense Ministry. The ministry specified that the exercise was ordered by President Vladimir Putin. It will test the readiness of non-strategic nuclear forces to carry out combat missions. The exercises will include working out the preparation and deployment for the use of non-strategic nuclear forces.
